UBS Dive Center has a full line of Genesis Scuba diving equipment for rent.
We have the most competitive rental prices of any dive company in the BVI and have enough complementary dive stuff to keep you very happy when you blow bubbles in the BVI. We deliver all scuba and water sport equipment free of charge to any marina in Tortola, within business hours of 9am to 5pm. Although there are 12 refill stations throughout the BVI, the costs vary from $6 to $10 and you have to carry your tanks in and wait for them to be filled. We have a great rate for refills and can swap out our tanks without you having to wait for them to be filled. We do this at our docks in Fat Hogs Bay in the East End Tortola, Trellis Bay and every evening at Cooper Island. The price for a swap is only $4 at our docks and Trellis Bay and $6 at Cooper Island.
We have customized our rental equipment prices to accommodate sailors and land based visitors. Equipment can be rented on a daily basis or through our special packages for a week and 10 day charters.

Most of the diving in the BVI can be described as novice to intermediate level diving, however it is still ocean diving and therefore we do sometimes have areas that can undergo drastic in-water conditions that can cause changes very quickly, sometimes within minutes.
Unfortunately for us that happens to be the site of the RMS Rhone. She sank in 1867 with a loss of around 125 to 150 souls. She lies from 15 feet to 80 next to Salt Island.
As she has been down so long, there is an abundance of coral and more critter life that you see on a normal healthy coral reef. This is because of all the nooks and crannies, which provide shelter for the lobsters, crabs and octopus. Aside from the dive being incredible for those reasons alone there is still the wreck itself to enjoy with brass port holes, silver spoons embedded in the coral, kitchen ( galley) floor tiles and sinks, massive wrench sets and the prop which was only the 6 th one ever used, cannons and lots more…..
We recommend to all novice divers that this dive because of its depth, the possibility of current and swell issues, should only be dived with a guide. Also the bow section can be a penetration dive where we can swim through a 60 foot section of the inside of the wreck itself! For advanced divers I find that they enjoy the dive when they dive on their own, but miss most of the artifacts and it has been known for some divers to even miss the whole wreck!
If you want us to meet you for this dive even if you are renting equipment we can. We run exclusively private dive boats so it will be just your group with one of our instructors on board. We like to meet you at your yacht at either Salt or Cooper Island and you need to plan on 4 hours for two dives, however, the time of the rendezvous is up to you. As it is your private dive boat for the day (any 4 hours between 9:30 to 4pm) we can do a dive, go back to your yacht, hang out and do another dive in the afternoon, or just do the two dives in the morning so you can sail in the afternoon. Another great option you may want to consider doing the Rhone as a late afternoon and then a night dive – very cool!!!!!
The price for you own private rendezvous dive boat is the same as you will find on our rendezvous page but you also will get a day of free rental equipment as we do not charge for dive equipment on the boats. Here is the price break down.
$250 for 1 diver
$125 for two divers
$95 for three or more divers
To reserve a dive boat we will need a little info on your group to help the day run smoothly.
1. Will any of your snorkelers want to try a resort course?
2. If so what size equipment would they need?
3. Which date do you want to reserve?
4. A credit card number that will not be charged as a show of good faith.
Also when you call us with your anchorage location let us know if you want us to bring out extra tanks to swap out your rentals.
To reserve your dive and Watersports equipment, print and fill in the rental form at the bottom of the page then fax to us at 284-494-0623. If you are chartering, please also make a note of the name of the person who chartered your yacht. This will enable us to find the name of the yacht you chartered at your charter boat company.
